Window tint aftercare: the first week, the Irish way

New film looks slightly hazy for a few days. That is curing, not a fault — and how you treat it in week one decides how it looks in year five.
The short answer
Leave the windows up for three days, expect some haze or small water pockets for up to a fortnight in Irish weather, and never clean the film with anything containing ammonia.
Why the glass looks hazy
Film is applied with a slip solution and a small amount of moisture stays between the film and the glass. As it dries out you may see haze, a milky patch or tiny pockets. In an Irish October that takes longer to clear than it would in a Spanish August.
Days 1–3
Windows stay up. No exceptions, even for the drive-through.
Days 3–7
Most haze clears. Pockets may still show in cool, damp weather.
Weeks 2–4
Fully cured. Anything still visible at this point, ring us.
Ongoing
Clean with a soft cloth and a non-ammonia cleaner.
Winter and ice
Never scrape the inside of a tinted window. If the inside of the glass ices up, warm the cabin and wipe with a soft cloth.

- Soft microfibre, never paper towel
- No scraping on the inside face
- Rear demister lines are under the film — be gentle around them
If something is not right
Come back to us. We would far rather look at a pocket that has not settled than have you living with it.

Keep the windows up for 3 to 5 days, keep chemical cleaners off the inside of the glass in that time, and expect some haze while it cures.

What if a bubble is still there after two weeks?
Ring the workshop. Cured film should be clear and flat, and our work carries a lifetime installation guarantee.
