## Questions and fitted prices

### What is privacy window film for a car?

Privacy window film is automotive tint fitted to rear doors, quarter glass and the rear screen. South East Window Tinting fits it at the Gorey workshop, Co. Wexford.

### Is privacy film legal on rear windows in Ireland?

The RSA's roadworthiness requirement is at least 65% light transmission through the windscreen and front side windows, measured through glass and film together. Rear-glass tint is not subject to that front-glass limit. See the Irish tint law page before choosing a shade.

### How much does privacy window film cost?

Rear-set privacy film costs €140 for a 3-door hatchback, €160 for a saloon and €190 for an SUV or jeep. Full Car packages (excluding front windshield) cost €190, €210 and €240 respectively. Film, labour and warranty are included; check the pricing page for current packages.

### Is film the same as factory privacy glass?

Factory privacy glass is coloured during manufacture; aftermarket film is applied to existing glass. Film can add heat and UV protection depending on its specification. The workshop can advise on your existing glass and shade options.

### Where can you get your car windows tinted locally?

South East Window Tinting fits car privacy film in Gorey, Co. Wexford. Drivers travel to the workshop from Wexford, Wicklow, Carlow, Kilkenny and Waterford; there are no branches or mobile fitting.
