# Window tinting with kids in the back: sun, glare and car seats

Stick-on shades fall off, tint does not. What rear tinting actually changes for a child in a car seat.

## Which shade for a family car

20% or 15% on the rear sides is the usual choice. It is dark enough that a low sun is not sitting on a child's face, and light enough that you can still see what is going on behind you when reversing.

If you regularly reverse into a dark driveway at night, take 20% rather than 5%. The difference in the mirror at night is bigger than the difference in privacy during the day.
